Our whānau gathered together to have a kai (a couple of weeks ago) and to spend time remembering whānau and friends that had passed on, over the past year... an uncle, a very close family friend and distant cousins. Paper origami stars were made and our tamariki performed a few waiata for us.
This year was the first time we gathered specifically to acknowledge and celebrate Matariki, and it is definitely a time of year that we will continue to celebrate and gather for, as we grow in our knowledge and learning of Matariki.
Mānawatia a Matariki!!
