I waiata māua ko tōku Mama "Te Aroha" i te waea pūkoro. E noho ana au i Whanganui-a-Tara. E noho ana tōku Māma i Ōtautahi. Nō Ingarangi māua ēngari ko Aotearoa tō māua kāinga ināianei. Nā konā e ako ana māua te reo Māori. Ko te reo te taikura ō te whakaaro marama.
My Mum and I sang "Te Aroha" together on Whats App because we live in different cities- I'm in Wellington and she's in Christchurch. We are from England but feel Aotearoa/New Zealand is our home now and because of this we are always learning te reo Māori because this is the key to developing understanding and knowledge of this land and its people.
Ngā mihi nui mō tēnei taonga.
