Myself and my 2 mokopuna I raise Ceza 7yr and Rorie 9yr learnt the waiata hīmene He Hōnore in sign language and performed it outside their kura Te Awamutu Primary to pay tribute to our deaf community and whanau for Te wiki o te reo māori. We don't know speak fluent but try a few kupu and kiwaha daily and know a few waiata Maori but wanted to try hard for those that are sometimes forgotten. We were scared and nervous but we felt the fear and did it anyway
