It is important for the next generation to be connected to their land/whenua so they know to take care of the earth that helps nourish and feeds them, to take care of our water to preserve marine life so that those species do not go extinct. To take care of our elderly as they have lived through history of change. To take care of our hinengaro our mental wellbeing keeping our thoughts positive and uplifting. To read so they become knowledgeable about different kaupapa that is happening in our country and others. To seek understanding so that we can support each other in manaakitanga.
