As women of different cultures we gathered together to not only share our love of the Moana (Ocean) but to share our matariki moment. I felt connected to my ancestors and the beautiful wahine toa that surrounded me as we circled together to repeat the Kaikohou in our own indigenous language, it was such a powerful moment I’m proud to celebrate the heritage of all our ancestors I’m proud to be Maori wahine and thankful for all these beautiful wahine toa and the wairua that surrounded us all.
