We had a Matariki night for our community at our Kura Te Taha ( Westshore school). Our kapa haka performed, we had shared Kai then we had activities set up in all the classrooms for whanau to participate in. My class built papier-mâché lanterns two weeks before hand and we had a light show in our classroom. The lanterns were themed around the 9 whetu in the Matariki cluster. The photo is of two mushrooms which the kids related to tupuanuku( Kai from the ground). It was a fabulous night for all.
