Kia Ora

I am an independent planning commissioner. We make decisions on resource consent applications on behalf of local councils.

I chaired a hearing on Wednesday where the first and last statement was in te reo Maori. The pronunciation was not perfect and I was nervous as hell but I’m glad I did it and will add these statements at the beginning and end of each hearing I hold from now on. It’s a start and I hope build on it as my vocabulary and confidence grows. Ka mau te wehi!
