The Challenge
This short mihi proclaims who you are and where you come from by saying your name, where your ancestors come from - if you want to or can - and where you live.
Why we do this
Learning a language is about starting out small and taking that first step. Being able to introduce yourself in te reo Māori is a helpful tool that we can all use in our everyday lives.
The mihi provided here can be used by anyone in a number of situations, both formal and informal. At a work hui, before addressing the room; at kura (school); when meeting new people... anytime you want to say who you are and where you come from.

The #MyMihi campaign was in 2021. Click here to view and hear mihi from across the nation and overseas.
