Our Year 5/6 students hail from the beautiful alpine surroundings of the Wānaka region. Our waiata acknowledges our maunga - Mount Aspiring, our roto, and the surrounding whenua. In our school, our pod/block names illustrate the learning and growing stages of the kōwhai tree, which we use as a metaphor for our learning journey. We practise as a group once a week. We would like to acknowledge and thank Whaea Mary-Anne Tamati for the mahi she has put into supporting our awesome group!
