Because this is my language, my culture. I’m a pakeha with a Maori daughter & I feel that it’s just as much mine as it is her’s. I feel connected to this country deep in my soul & I feel my soul grow when I speak or sing in Maori. I feel such pride in NZ as I believe we want to learn our own language.
