Pūtahi Mahara – Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 100th Anniversary
My hope for the future is that te reo Māori is fully accepted and celebrated by our nation, that there is no more division, only kotahitanga (unity) under the korowai of our reo rangatira.
I dream that my mokopuna have found their place in the world, standing strong and proud, speaking te reo with confidence and mana. I want them to be better than me, to walk further on the path that our tūpuna paved, and to carry our reo into the future without fear.
Mā te reo e whakakaha, mā te reo e whakaora, mā te reo e whakakotahi i a tātou katoa – through our language we find strength, healing, and unity.
This is my aroha and my prayer for the generations to come.
