In 2003, 2004 & 2005 i embarked on my hikoi seeking higher knowledge of Te Reo Maori me ona Tikanga. It was challenging on so many levels but rewarding also. It has helped me to address my ignorance in relation to Te Ao Maori. It opened eyes and mind to the Maori world view and i meet so many wonderful and inspirational people, yes Maori but also people from all over the motu and other countries. I managed to have a fluent conversation in Te Reo Maori with a gentleman from Japan who did not speak English. Na reira, kia kaha tatou ki te korero Maori, i te ao, i te po. Mauri ora ki a tatou katoa.
