It's important for me to take part in te wā tuku reo māori, as te reo gives me a point of connection to my tupuna. I am learning so that I can pass on the same opportunities to my mokopuna to connect with me when I am gone.
I want to contribute to normalising te reo so everyone can be comfortable to kōrero māori, and we can be a truly bilingual and bicultural nation.
