Each day of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2026 has a theme to guide the week. Highlighting the different ways te reo Māori belongs in our everyday lives - at home, at work, and in our communities.

These themes are designed to help you plan activities and bring te reo into different parts of daily life. Use them to guide and inspire how you bring your Te Reo Town to life.

Te Reo i te Wāhi Tangata

Take te reo to the streets. Parades, performances and public moments put te reo Māori front and centre in towns across Aotearoa – visible, proud, and impossible to ignore.
