Kia ora! I am at work and greet callers in te reo, as I do every day. I feel the response today has been particularly positive, as several callers either responded in te reo, gave it their best go, or simply expressed their appreciation for hearing te reo. Kia kaha te reo Māori!

I am a student, and my class had a zoom call where we did a Maori language Kahoot. It was really fun and I can 7th out of 30 people. It helped my understanding of Maori language grow.

I learnt my Pepeha and began to practice it so that I have it memorised next time I am on the marae. Also tried to learn some phrases that I thought I could use for the rest of mahuru māori. Kia kaha te reo māori

My son and I decided to do our pepeha together.

I spent some time trying to remember to correct pronunciation of E Ihowā Atua - our national anthem. There's a great page here with a beautiful rendition of the waiata by Naomi Bradfield: https://www. maorilanguage. net/waiata/e-ihowa-atua-nz-national-anthem/

Tēna koutou

Our whanau have learnt some karakias and it has become a regular thing to say them at every meal. We also downloaded the korerorero app so we can start learning and speaking te reo. 🙂
