Unfortunately the whole whakataukī isn't visible because of some technical difficulties! But the whakawhanaungatanga and the kaha o te reo was there!

I taught my son how to construct a simple sentence of saying his name in Te Reo Maori as I am an ECE teacher.

Kia Ora! I spent my moment today continuing to learn all the Māori place-names in Aotearoa and matching them up to the local Iwi. I'm trying to get a picture of the historic settlement of tangata whenua. I found these amazing maps online to help me with the job ♥️

Some of us got together today to do the Kahoot quiz. This was an awesome way to put what we have been learning in our weekly te reo classes into practice! We had so much fun and learned a few things too! We're going to commit to using more te reo words around the office and in our office comms.

Multiple services in Oamaru coming together to share moments of Te Reo & Tikanga Maori; starting with Karakia, Waiata, shared Kai, discussing the positives of learning Te Reo and bringing this into our lives - personal/professional. Followed by Harakeke weaving with our wonderful Kirsty. It brought a great sense of connectedness and passion to continue to support one another

Our tīma had great fun completing the kahoot quiz!

This morning I had a korero with my friend Nikky. Even though we are in Level 4, we practiced ordering coffee in Te Reo. :)

Kia Kaha te reo Māori, Ki te whakarongo, ngā tamariki ki Te Whare Kohungahunga a Paparāngi, ki a pukapuka mō Pungawerewere.

Recently, we learnt a Matariki song of all seven stars. It was amazing how our tamariki learnt this song so easily with such long words and so did we teachers through Makarena actions.

Practicing how to ask someone how they are in a computer lab

For our 'moment' the class wrote a word or phrase in te reo Māori so we could capture a photograph. At 12noon we enjoyed a whole team hui, where we shared a karakia, a waiata, a story and a game, all in te reo.

In Rimu at Yaldhurst Model School in Christchurch, we started our Kapa Haka session with the waiata Rona that we have learnt this year! ✌️ We are all excited and grateful to be a part of Te Wā Tuku Reo Māori, the Māori Language Moment Movement, during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, Māori Language Week for 2021! Thank you! 🖤 ❤️ 🤍 🇳🇿

17 members of our Central Kids Tari Matua (Head Office) team played a Kahoot game that was created by two of our members. Some of us were in the office and others were at home working offsite. For many, it was a stretch of our knowledge as well as an affirmation of our baseline. We connected to our organisation's commitment to te reo me ōna tikanga by incorporating questions linked to our waiata and mana whenua.

Today I did this jigsaw and learned a new whakataukī in te reo. I love how these powerful words impact my daily life and force me to do some critical thinking. This one inspires us to never stop learning and to empower ourselves with knowledge of all kinds! Whaowhia te kete mātauranga! (Fill the basket with knowledge)

We're at Level 4 lockdown in Titoki Montessori Preschool but our tamariki have been loving our Zoom mat times where we read a book, sing and dance. Here's a clip of us singing Tena Koe and Paki-paki. Young children have absorbent minds and are in a sensitive period for language acquisition so they take in te reo words and phrases like sponges!

Kids & I playing a stick game to help remember the words for right and left in te reo

My place of work held a webinar to learn & celebrate waiata. We learnt three waiata - two of which were written locally. We learnt the whakamārama behind each of the waiata, broke it down, and sung our hearts out! Plenty of everyday kupu shared throughout the session as well. It was educational and heart warming, definitely one of the highlights of lockdown for me personally. Anō te pai!

Today I did a quiz on te reo, and listened to 'Hine Ruhi' - Dave Dobbyn's te reo version of 'Slice of Heaven' - and began listening to a brilliantly informative podcast series by Stacey Morrison called 'Up To Speed With Te Reo Māori'.

Our company is having the Maori Language Week. We are building our Kete knowledge and share tips and resources try using basic greetings and farewells.

This is my Pepeha. I am from Koukourarata (Port Levy) on Banks Peninsula, though grew up in North Canterbury. My ancestors owned a timber mill in Little River and felled many native trees to help build Christchurch in the late 1800s (I feel quite guilty about this now, but those were the times they lived in). My partner, Verity, is Kai Tahu and her ancestry originates from Colac Bay, Takutai o Te Titi Marae, in Southland, a beautiful place that looks South towards Rakiura.

I have done another one as i think the previous one i sent was from 2 years ago.

Tamariki at Bream Bay Educare sing waiata, Patuharakeke; all about our local area, our Maunga, our moana, our whenua and our iwi. This waiata gives tamariki a sense of where they come from and that they belong. We feel prililedged to be part of this moment 2 years in a row.

Kei te ako tonu au i te reo Māori mō ngā tau e toru ināianei. I haere au ki te whare o tōku hoa, nā ingarangi ia, kua akotahi māua, ā, i whakaharatau māua i ngā karakia, waiata, ako i ngā kupu hou me te kōrero. He pai ki a au ki te ako tahanga, engari he pai ake ki te tohatoha i te haerenga ki tōku hoa. He maha ngā pātai, ngā rangirua me te pai ake ngā roro e rua i te roro kotahi! Nō reira, nau mai te hapa, whakaputa te amaimai. Karawhiua! ! Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori I am learning Te Reo Māori, have been for a few years now, so I went and met up with my friend at her house who has been learning with me and we spent an hour together. We started with karakia, sung a waiata and then practised our conversation and tested each other on new kupu. I enjoy studying on my own but it is also so fantastic to share this learning journey together as there are always questions, uncertainties and two brains are better than one. Therefore, Welcome the mistakes, banish the fear. Give it a go! Nā Toni, (Ngāmotu)

Whare whare! ! Whaea Fiona leading us in "bingo" or whare whare.

At midday we stopped our lesson to ask each other Kei te pēhea koe? I had put a range or responses students could choose from to describe how they were today whether they were pai or hiakai.

Kaimahi celebrating Te Reo Maori via Zui

We had a mihi to the kaupapa and then shared pepehā, some of us for the first time, and whakatauki. It was amazing to know of the connections within our own stories, but also between each other. Some connections reached overseas, and some were connections to a distant history here in Aotearoa. Te reo Māori was able to help us join to and celebrate all those important links that makes us proud to be who we are. Mauri ora!

“Ko te reo te mauri o te mana Māori” When we had a kōrero at Tātou about our Māori Langage Moment we couldn't just choose one so we decided to post up a reel of 'heaps of moments' and we had to back it with the infamous “He Māori Āhau"waiata cos it's just still that cool! (We do not own the rights to this song) #tātou #māori #kaupapa #teaomāori #tika #reomāori #tewikiotereomāori (We posted on our socials and tagged in at 12pm)

Myself and my school (334 people) had a level 2 'Zui', We used 'Tuia ki runga' as a karakia for unity, Toromai as our waiata about getting on, We reintroduced ourselves (i te reo maori), then finished with Six60's Pepeha. Failing that, teachers took te reo maori at this time. A celebration. Miharo!

Tena koutou katoa, 12pm is mat time at our kindergarten so we gathered the tamariki just before 12 to let them know about this special occasion and what we were going to do. We counted down the last 5 seconds and then shouted out "Kia ora" to the camera! After this we all sang two waiata a ringa: "Te Pepeha o te Kura Kohungahunga o Waitangi" me "Te Waiata o ngā Atua". We hope you enjoy watching ngā tamariki perform as much as we enjoyed taking part! Ngā mihi nui, Wil Zwanikken Head Teacher
