use te Reo maori greeting everyday

I am spending an hpur everyday only conversing in te reo Māori and uploading my whakaaro about my tupuna or a historic Māori figure and writing it in te reo māori.

I’m very keen to get my family involved in learning some bew words in te reo Māori

Having big kōrero with the teachers in my department at my teaching placement school as te reo is still uncomfy for them. Kupu ō te rā everyday for my students that is relevent to our subject. Attending meetings on how we can continie to better support our akonga māori. Continuing to set a te ao māori kaupapa in my classroom. Continuing to find ways to inject te ao māori into the core kaupapa of my subject. Continuing to research my own whakapapa and step into my māoritanga so I can be the best role model I can be for our rangatahi. Continuing to question: what’s māori about this? And striving to honour te tiriti in every step.

Myself to learn Maori words in my bedroom.

Im guessing what im writing is the right thing but i'll share the reo and hopefully the mana by convinsing the people in my school and keep doing my haka to the best of my abilities

My students singing a beautiful waiata. Every day at 12pm we will sing a different waiata 😁

Re-visiting my pepeha and practicing greetings

I am partaking by spreading awareness about the importance of te ao Māori in Aotearoa. Education is key. I'm also expanding my knowledge daily through Education Perfect. As part of my Teaching degree I have further expanded my knowledge of te ao Māori, and felt now is the time to take it a step further and become more competent in my kupu so that my future akomanga and tamariki can feel empowered too.

Use more te reo in my professional work emails without being worried of being told off. Label items at work with te reo.

I am joining te wiki o te reo maori for the first time to celebrate its importance in my everyday life as a New Zealander.

Took part in various celebrations and signed up to a beginner’s course

Ahakoa iti, ākona, kōrerotia - Learn a little, use a little. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Kia ora koutou, I’d love to share my fun mobile app to help people learn new kupu and extend their vocabulary. It’s good for learning how to spell words too. You can find download the app from my webpage https://www. maoriwordfind. co. nz/ Enjoy and have fun, Jo

Dedicated 30 minutes of learning te Reo everyday !

I love māori language week! As a pākehā kiwi, it's extremely important to me to learn & kōrero te reo māori. Not only the language but also educate myself about tikanga māori, for myself, my tamariki & my future generations. I have bought my pākeha son up bilingual, he knows more māori names for places, animals and everyday things then he does English so for māori language week I am upping his māori vocab & have made new flashcards for him with more difficult words and some new phrases. And for bedtime, I am telling him a different māori legend each night. Tonight was the story of Waitaiki & Poutini , as we live on the West Coast and he was actually named after the Arahura River. His father is also a Jade carver & has a huge connection to pounamu & the Awa, so my son Awa extremely enjoyed the story. Especially because it's a huge passion of his dads! Nga mihi :)

Sharing our reo and pūrakau with our community is the best! We must encourage all of Aotearoa to share our native tongue ❤️🤍🖤
