We celebrated Matariki by doing a kapa haka fundraiser in support of our Kapa Haka Roopu Ngā Tai Ahurea taking first stand at Te Mana kuratahi Nationals this year. -

Yesterday at mahi I arranged a morning tea and after mahi hākari, where we practised our karakia mō the Kai, discussed Matariki and played 2 kēmu to build our regular use of te reo Māori. -

The tamariki of Te Kura o Awa, Te Kura o Puriri, Puriri School spent the first half of the year growing vegetables to turn into Matariki Soup 🥣 they then shared their harvest with whānau beside our awa around the campfire 🔥 they prepared earlier in the week by collecting rocks and firewood 🪵 You can see more of how we connected to the rising of Matariki on our kura Facebook page Positively Puriri. -
