In honor of Te Wā Tuku Reo Māori and to mark the moment the Māori Language Petition was presented to Parliament in 1972, staff and students at the Mātauranga Hauora | Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland gathered in the Atrium of the Grafton campus at noon to sing He Honore, and learn the actions in New Zealand sign language -

To celebrate Te Wiki O Te Reo Māori at our kura we got the tamariki to make steam pudding they challenge was to translate steam pudding into te Māori they had to research the ingredients in reo and when we got to make it they used te reo Māori to add ingredients and make it for the whole roopu. -
